begin to leaf out in the Spring.

In March, before the vines leaf out, grasses
are mowed to bring all nutrients to the vines.

The beginning of very tiny clusters of grapes
starting to form in early Spring.

Late Spring buds bloom and are ready for
pollination. Then the fruit begins to set.
veraison time
This starts the ripening process, called "veraison". Red wine grapes change from green to red.

Some grape bunches are removed creating more intense flavors.
